"Derive through streets, markets and algorithms"
I have started theoretical-artistic research project under the working title "Derive through streets, markets and algorithms". The goal of the research is to consider present and emerging artificial and mediated spaces of everyday life and life reproduction and to look into the ways they supplement, trans mutate, and infuse 'traditional' social relations and social text. The research relies on the concept of dérive developed by the group of French theorists and artist in the 50's as a method of devising "psychogeographies" and on the framework for inquiry into everyday life suggested by Henry Lefebvre. My goal is to rework and tweek these ideas in such a way to be able to account for, illuminate and artistically render contemporary social conditions, forces and forms of ever expanding market and virtual enclosures and mediations In the everyday. Output of the research will be a research paper.
