Ignazio ALESSI

Ignazio Alessi, graduated cum laude from the Department of Law, University of Palermo, he is currently a doctoral candidate in Etudes Politiques at the École des Haute Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris and at the Department of Law of the University of Palermo inHuman Rights: protection, evolution and limits. He is also a member of the project Documenting Multiculturalism based at the University of Oxford and the University of Palermo. His research activity is focused on medieval legal multiculturalism in the Mediterranean area.

The research focuses on the relationship between law and multiculturalism from a historical perspective, especially in relation to the medieval period: how interactions between different ethnic, linguistic and religious groups in the medieval period contributed to the formation of the legal system...
