Laila LANSARI
My aim was to undertake a comparative analysis between the two partners in putting in place cultural politics and popular education.
My secondment allowed me to take part in the Mladi Levi festival organised by Bunker. It was a time of discovery, research and exchange with the team at Bunker as well as with artists and volunteers during the festival. These meetings and discussions allowed me to conclude that attitudes in Slovenia towards culture are really intense, and that Slovenia benefits from a well-developed network of cultural institutions, organisations and associations.
Then, despite their different cultures and cultural politics, Racines and Bunker each strive in their own way, towards the same goal: popular education and social progress. Popular education exists everywhere that we undertake a programme for awareness, emancipation, development of the power to act and social transformation.
My experience has the potential to contribute to improved communication and understanding at an international level of cultural practices.
