The research focuses on narratives for a future economy. Mission Economy and Economic Policy focused on integrating economic concepts based on a selective literature review and providing world political and economic examples to integrate trajectories. The main purpose of the secondment was to define features and whether we should be talking about ‘capitalist society’ rather than a ‘capitalist economy’ or some kind of post-capitalist state to be applied for the economies of China and United States. Designing the economy of the future is important for policy-making at institutional, national and global levels.
