Saffron Woodcraft
Saffron is Principal Research Fellow at the Institute for Global Prosperity at UCL, where she leads the IGP's Prosperity Co-Lab - ProCol UK. Saffron is collaborating with researchers and students from Universidad de la Habana through the trans-making project to explore what prosperity means to young people in Havana.
Her research focuses on understanding lived experiences of prosperity and inequality and developing new citizen-led prosperity metrics. I collaborate with citizen scientists, community organisations, policymakers and business to bring local understandings of prosperity into planning and decision-making processes that affect place-based strategies.
She has led the Institute’s work to develop a citizen-led Prosperity Index since 2015, which is now being adapted internationally. She manages the London Prosperity Board and IGP’s longitudinal study of prosperity in the UK. She leads the development of new multi-stakeholder collaborations and research project.
