Radio static rain – Sound Installation
32 small sound speakers were recycled, repaired and placed on one octagonal construction of metal profiles in order to create a ceiling of speakers. All speakers have been individually wired to a mixer via recycled audio cables. 30 cm below the speakers ceiling construction, one 3-meter diameter circle of recycled and knitted copper wire web has been stretched and connected to a radio receivers’ antenna. Radio receiver is tuned to an „empty” frequency and connected to speakers. Since „empty” frequency sounds like a distant rain all the movements of people walking under the copper wire web that looks like an umbrella will force antenna to react and create crackling sound composition of radio static rain.
